SCATS COUNTRYSTORE SET TO RELAUNCH NEW LOOK FLAGSHIP IN DORCHESTER
The eagerly anticipated new look SCATS Countrystore in Dorchester is set to officially launch on Tuesday 13th April following a £1 million extension and makeover, making it the flagship within the portfolio of 19 stores across the South East.
When complete the new look store will have tripled in size to 12,000 sq ft of shop floor space featuring hugely extended ranges including a dedicated farm services area, a brand new regional food and drink department and much needed extra car parking.
The extended store has been designed around customer needs and feedback and specifically caters for the strong farming, equine and rural community in and around Dorchester.
Jim Gillham, SCATS Sales and Operations Manager said, 'Dorchester is a key agricultural trading area for us and as a result we've invested a substantial figure in order to provide enhanced facilities for both farmers and country dwellers living and working in the town and surrounding districts.'
A major new feature and a first for SCATS Countrystores will be a dedicated Farm Services area in the centre of the store where agricultural customers can talk and discuss their needs with specialist advisors in an open plan office environment.
The new store layout, design and merchandising has a brand new look and feel which if successful will be rolled out across the portfolio of SCATS Countrystores. This includes 6 new store zones which are colour coded and group together key product categories including farming, gardening, pet, equine, clothing and food & drink.
Rob Vowles, SCATS Retail Store Development & Merchandising Coordinator said, 'The new store design aims to improve the in store customer experience with clear designated category areas, giving a shop within a shop feel. The old premises were being under utilised and the building was in need of an upgrade. The investment we're making will transform the building and we're confident customers will enjoy the new superstore environment.'
Customers can expect much more choice in store with all core departments at least doubling in size. The store will also feature an animal health counter where customers can talk to qualified members of the team.
The SCATS Countrystore in Dorchester will continue to trade throughout the development and the official launch and ribbon cutting of the new look store will take place on Tuesday 13th April with the Mayor of Dorchester.
