LEADING RURAL RETAILER TO LAUNCH NEW BLUEPRINT STORE IN ANDOVER
The eagerly anticipated new SCATS Countrystore in Andover is set to officially launch on Thursday 22nd April following major investment, delivering the rural retailers first ever purpose built store which will act as a blue print for future developments.
For several years SCATS Countrystores has worked hard to secure new premises in Andover after moving into two temporary sites in September 2007 (Mylen Road and Brunel Gate).
The brand new store will be located in the heart of the town on Andover Trade Park and will feature a much larger shop floor area (10,000sq) and improved facilities including a new feed store, dedicated farm services area and large outdoor yard stocking agricultural, equestrian and garden timber fencing, fertilisers, composts and agricultural and garden hardware.
The store has been designed around customer needs and feedback and specifically caters for the strong farming, equine and rural community in and around Andover.
Jim Gillham, Head of Retail Sales and Operations said, ?Having had a store in the town for over 50 years, we?re delighted to be in a position of being able to increase our presence with a purpose built shop which will continue to serve the rural community in and around Andover for many years to come.?
The new store layout, design and merchandising has a brand new look and feel. This includes 5 new store zones which are colour coded and grouped together in key product categories - farming, gardening, pet, equine and clothing. Rob Vowles, SCATS Retail Store Development & Merchandising Coordinator said, ?Our first ever purpose built store aims to improve the customer experience with clear designated category areas, giving a shop within a shop feel. With so much more space, this new superstore environment will offer customers a lot more choice together with the personal and specialist service we?re proud to deliver.?
All core departments have at least doubled in size including all the top name country clothing brands, pet feed and equine essentials you?d expect from a quality country store. The store will also feature an animal health counter where customers can talk to qualified members of the team.
The SCATS Countrystore in Andover will officially launch with a ribbon cutting on Thursday 22nd April at 10.30am with the Mayor of Andover.
